BINARY is a part of this years Beep Painting Biennial. Beep started life in 2012 and aims to bring to Wales the best contemporary painting from across the globe, highlighting excellence in content, aesthetic, technique, and materials used. Beep also provides and nurtures an informative network for painters and people interested in contemporary painting by raising awareness of artists’ works and artist opportunities from across the UK and beyond. Shift will be part of this years Beep painting Biennial

Artists Jonathan Powell and Karl Bielik chose ten artists each whose work is firmly planted in painting. The show will be unharmonious, open, disjointed, inclusive, jarring and deliberately all over the shop.

It is not convenient, it is not attractive. But it is necessary.

Centered around the Beep International Painting PRize which this year takes place at elysium gallery, the Biennial takes place across various venues in Swansea (starting Saturday Oct 3rd) and Cardiff (starting Saturday Oct 10th). There are also additional events in Carmarthenshire and London.
